OPENING DAY 2021

1st February 2021

Today I made our traditional opening day toast to the river.

Not our usual picture of Steve, just my hand.

As many of you know Steve was off colour last season due to a heart problem. I am pleased to say that Steve had open heart surgery last Monday to replace the main valve in his heart and is recovering well and after some well deserved respite, he will be literally back firing on all cylinders.

Get Well Soon Steve.

STORM CIARA...

10th February 2020

Ciara certainly was felt on the river and we are waiting for the flood waters to recede to see what damage she has left.

To add insult to injury, heavy snow is forecast for the next few days.

We feel great sadness for the beats lower down who are meant to be fishing and fingers crossed huts, boats etc have survived.

2012 Opening Day

Our traditional toast to the river made by our Ghillie, Steve Dickson.

Don't let the sunshine fool you, it was bloody freezing and the wind could cut you in half!

Steve has also been busy refurbishing the kitchen in the bothy, it is still work in progress but it looks very smart already.

Our Kawasaki ‘Mule ...

Newly introduced in 2010, is our Kawasaki ‘Mule’ which is used to transport our rods to and from the upper and lower pools on both sides of the river. This not only maximises your fishing time on the river but is also a welcome service to our rods who’s legs are ‘not a young as they used to be’.
