Off the Mark...

Congratulations to Tammy W, who caught our first fish of the 2021 season, a 9lber from the Bridge Pool.

It doesn't happen very often but we could have had our first fish a couple of days earlier.

Believe it or not, Steve dropped a fish in the Bridge Pool !!!

As Steve is still recovering from his major heart surgery at the beginning of the year, we'll let it slide.

Steve has asked me to pass on his thanks to everyone for the messages of support he has received, both directly and through the office.

COVID-19

As you will be well aware, Coronavirus has had a huge impact on our daily lives with changes and restrictions happening on a daily basis.

With regards to our fishing, hopefully when September comes around, I would like to think we have emerged from the dark shroud of isolation, suspended business trading and panic buying.

I will be reviewing things in June, prior to final balance requests being sent out. The main issue that would prevent us from fishing, would be if the hospitality industry is still in a lock down.

If the worst comes to the worst and we have to cancel our season, we will be offering the opportunity to "roll over" your deposits to next season. I will also be happy to assist you with any travel insurance claims relating to your booking. I will also be looking at, but can't guarantee, to offer refunds in these exceptional circumstances we face.

In the mean time, please stay safe and well and follow the guidelines regarding hygiene and social distancing.

The one that stayed away, saved the others.

New Kitchen and Car park

We have been busy again during the winter and spring. Firstly we have completely refitted the kitchen area, installing new floor and wall cabinets, new sink and a new gas hob, as you will see from the photograph below the result is very smart.

We have also re-surfaced the car park and have installed some new fencing.

After the very warm weather in April, Steve is busy keeping the beat in it's usual immaculate order, this being helped with the addition of a set of gang mowers which now allows him to gut the grass in 8ft wide strips at a time. The result is so good that the locals have been asking where the flags are going to mark the holes!

Continuing my work on improving the facilities at Upper Caberston, I have invested in new waterproof 2 Way radios for use by our clients, if they wish to do so.

These allow you contact Steve or your fellow angler to help you land your fish or more importantly, call for assistance if you get into any sort of difficulty.
